Joy In Action: Transforming Lives

National Spread Joy Day, celebrated on October 11, is about bringing positivity to our news feeds and lives. At SingFit, we spread joy to people of all ages through music and are honoring this day by highlighting inspiring individuals, organizations and even four-legged friends who share our mission to increase happiness.

Spreading Joy to Caregivers & Older Adults with Dementia

  • With its mission to bring light to Alzheimer’s, Hilarity for Charity (HFC) is a non-profit organization co-founded by Seth Rogen and wife Lauren Miller Rogen. HFC offers resources, support, and levity to caregivers of those fighting the disease, using “light and laughter as a tool to build community and as an important mechanism to create lasting change”. To learn more, visit HFC’s website at www.wearehfc.org/.

  • Dangle & Dot are a breath of fresh air in the dementia caregiving space! Co-founders Nancy Nelson and Kat Hartlet believe that a supported, embraced dementia community can help break the stigma and address the challenges of the disease. Spreading Joy Worldwide

  • Some would say Taylor Swift’s music alone brings joy, but she also generously provided free concert tickets to police officers, firefighters and their extended families following the death of a Weymouth police officer in 2018.

  • Happiness is not just a state; happiness is a skill set that anyone can learn. The World Health Organization has declared that depression is the leading cause of mental and physical disability worldwide, affecting 1 in 20 people. Project Happiness is a non-profit organization making a difference by encouraging and demonstrating kindness and mindfulness. To learn more, visit their website at https://projecthappiness.org/

  • Mindvalley CEO Vishen Lakhiani strives to empower people to live extraordinary lives. He founded Mindvalley Academy, which offers a wide range of personal growth courses that have impacted over 3 million students. Covering topics from happiness and energy management to wealth and meditation, Mindvalley is a hub for unlocking your full potential. Learn more at www.mindvalley.com.

Spreading Joy to Children

  • Not only is Dolly Parton an iconic Country music artist, she is also a humanitarian who has gifted over 251 million books to children through her Imagination Library. 2 million books are mailed globally each month, bringing joy and the love of reading to children. To learn more, visit https://imaginationlibrary.com/.

  • Many hospitals offer therapeutic pet, art, or music programs to bring joy to those in need. At Children’s National, therapy dogs Ellie and Emma help kids find comfort and happiness during tough times. Last year, the program provided 9,443 animal visitations, brightening the days of patients and their families.

Whatever brings you joy, we hope you experience it this month and throughout the year. If you'd like to spread joy to residents, clients, or loved ones through music, let SingFit’s suite of therapeutic music solutions including SingFit PRIME, SingFit STUDIO Pro and SingFit STUDIO Caregiver bring them great tunes and plenty of smiles.
